To design and manufacture 15 off 1500kg capacity scissor lifts for inclusion in the finished painted body, Astra assembly line. Specified duty cycle for the lifts was two shift working, high operating speeds, extreme reliability, ease of maintenance and replacement of wearing components.

A 5000mm long powered roller conveyor bolted to the lift platform, must accept the dynamic load of the skid mounted vehicle body transferring with the lift in the raised position and align with the floor conveyor in the low closed position.

The design is robust, utilising high quality steel profiled scissor arms, jig welded and bored to ensure smooth precise operation, large needle roller sealed main and minor bearings, including easily replaceable wear rails together with racked positional limit switches, all machined components zinc plated, and the remote hydraulic power pack fitted with quick release couplings.

The contract was completed in eight weeks from receipt of order.
