C.S. No. S629-93

Type: D.P.L.-250-F.S.–R
Type: D.P.L.-250-W.F.–R

The S.C.C. Local Authority had an existing college entrance, with short rise stairs to each side of the reception and was required by current legislation to provide easy access for day pupils and mature students attending evening classes, who were ambulant or wheelchair users.

The reception had attractive modern Finishes with painted metal and wooden balustrades to the raised dias areas, stairs etc. The Client specified a cost effective installation that was to be robust, practical, reliable, restrict un-authorised use, make the best use of limited space, cause minimal disturbance, and blend with the décor.

FREE STANDING & WALL FIXED DISABLED PERSONS LIFT
Two types of SAXON Lifts were chosen by the S.C.C. Surveyor and his responsible officers, as meeting all their criteria.

The Type D.P.L.250-F.S.-R is shown surface mounted (L.H.S. photo) in the lowered position with the auto-barrier-ramp deployed. The type D.P.L.-250-W.F.-R is shown wall mounted (R.H.S. photo) in the raised position with the auto-barrier-ramp up-right.

The space was restricted adjacent to the one flight of stairs and the wall mounted lift provided the most compact solution. It can be clearly seen that the painted metal finishes and inter-changeable wooden side panels compliment the décor.

The lift controls were key operated to restrict un-authorised use.
